Estonia has been an independent state since 1991 and a member of the EU since 2004.
Estonia has around 1.3 million inhabitants and is a state in the Baltic region. As the northernmost of the three Baltic states, it borders Latvia to the south, Russia to the east and the Baltic Sea to the north and west.

Economy: After regaining its independence, Estonia completely reorganised its community along Scandinavian lines: few hierarchies, a high degree of transparency of state bodies, modern communication technology.
